Natural zeolites are widely utilized to mitigate the impact of pollutants, particularly in water sources affected by metals from mining and metallurgical processes. This study investigates the adsorption of arsenic on pre-treated zeolite at varying pH levels, with the objective of identifying optimal conditions for enhanced arsenic removal. Different samples of zeolite were subjected to treatment at multiple pH levels to assess their efficiency in arsenic adsorption. Results demonstrated that natural zeolites treated at a pH of 9 exhibited superior adsorption performance, achieving over 90% efficiency in removing arsenic from water. This research highlights the significance of pH control during the pre-treatment process, which optimizes the adsorption isotherms and enhances the overall effectiveness of zeolite as a selective adsorbent for arsenic in aqueous solutions. These findings provide crucial insights for future applications in water treatment, particularly in regions severely impacted by arsenic contamination.
