In this paper, we present a new derivation of centroid defuzzification, an important technique used in fuzzy logic systems. The objective is to provide a clearer and more direct interpretation of the centroid method, which often serves as a critical component in the decision-making processes of fuzzy systems. We employ a mathematical framework that simplifies the understanding of centroid calculations and addresses some of the common challenges associated with existing methods. Our methodology includes a detailed analysis of the properties of fuzzy sets and the implications of centroid defuzzification in practical applications. Through theoretical derivations and illustrative examples, we demonstrate how our approach enhances the accuracy and applicability of centroid defuzzification in various scenarios. The results indicate that the proposed method not only streamlines the computation process but also provides better alignment with the intended goals of the fuzzy systems. Overall, this research contributes valuable insights into both the theoretical and practical aspects of fuzzy logic, particularly in the context of defuzzification techniques.
