A Review on Tools and Methods for Analyzing Production Quality Control in the Food and Textile Industries

The methods reviewed in this study include DMAIC (Define–Measure–Analyze–Improve–Control), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Kaizen, the Seven Tools of Quality, SPC (Statistical Process Control), and SQC (Statistical Quality Control). Each method offers different strengths and limitations in improving product quality and process performance. DMAIC and SPC provide a structured, data-driven approach to identifying root causes and implementing systematic remedies. FMEA supports proactive risk analysis by identifying potential failures before they occur. Kaizen emphasizes continuous improvement through employee engagement and incremental change, while the Seven Tools of Quality facilitate visual identification of problems and basic quality analysis. Meanwhile, SQC ensures the monitoring and quantitative control of production performance. The study concludes that the food industry benefits the most from DMAIC–SPC–FMEA integration due to its strong emphasis on safety, risk prevention, and process consistency. In contrast, the textile industry achieves better results through the combination of Kaizen–DMAIC–Seven Tools, which focuses on optimizing sustainable processes, reducing waste, and minimizing variability in the production process.
