The Kamoto underground mine faces recovery problems on the North Pond side, resulting in financial losses, which motivates this study titled “Contribution to the techno‑economic evaluation of the North Pond mining sequences: Case of the Kamoto underground mine.” The main objective is to increase ore recovery by redesigning the mining sequence. To achieve this, the work includes resizing pillars, determining the number of rooms, evaluating production units, quantifying cemented hydraulic backfill, and conducting an economic evaluation of the project. The selected design adopts pillars 25 m high, 13 m wide, 15 m long, with 15 m spacing, yielding a 77% recovery with 146 rooms. The corresponding backfill volume is estimated at 1,231,868.84 m³. The project’s investment cost is evaluated at USD 103,923,878.20, generating a net cash flow of USD 353,481,191, a net present value (NPV) of USD 96,443,377.51, and a profitability index of 1.92.
