This study investigates the design and application of a mannosylated polyethylenimine–cell penetrating peptide (PEI–CPP) hybrid for the targeted delivery of TRAIL gene therapy aimed at colorectal cancer. The objective was to enhance the selectivity and efficiency of gene delivery to cancer cells. The methodology involved synthesizing the hybrid and conducting in vitro evaluation of its transfection efficacy using colorectal cancer cell lines. The results demonstrated that the mannosylated PEI–CPP hybrid significantly improved TRAIL delivery compared to unmodified PEI, leading to heightened apoptosis in cancer cells, indicating a promising therapeutic strategy for colorectal cancer treatment.
