Nanoparticles typically have dimensions of less than 100 nm. Scientists around the globe have shown immense interest in the classification, synthesis, and characterization of nanoparticles due to their unique properties and vast applications in various fields, including medicine, electronics, and environmental remediation. This review aims to provide comprehensive insights into different methodologies employed for synthesizing and characterizing nanoparticles, alongside their practical applications. A systematic literature review was conducted, integrating various sources to compile current knowledge on the topic. The review highlights key classification techniques and synthetic approaches such as chemical reduction, sol-gel, and biological methods, and explores the characterization techniques, including electron microscopy and spectroscopy. The findings indicate a growing trend in using green synthesis methods due to their environmental friendliness and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the review summarizes the significant applications of nanoparticles in fields such as drug delivery systems, catalysts, and energy storage solutions. The collective information presented serves as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners, shedding light on future directions in the field of nanotechnology.
