This paper discusses various power factor correction (PFC) techniques, proposing methods such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), neural networks (NN), and field programmable gate arrays (FPGA). It highlights the significance of PFC systems in improving the quality of power supply and achieving a good power factor. The study illuminates the requirements for a PFC arrangement based on a boost converter operating in Discontinuous Inductor Current Mode (DICM). A poor power factor often leads to significant energy wastage and reduces the efficiency of the electrical system, caused by phase discrepancies between current and voltage at the terminals of electrical loads. The findings emphasize the need for effective power factor correction measures to enhance system performance and energy efficiency.
