Molecular compounds formed through the co-crystallization of polymer chains and solvent molecules represent a significant area of study, particularly in the context of isotactic and syndiotactic polystyrenes. This paper aims to present a brief overview of these compounds, focusing on the temperature-concentration phase diagrams that are crucial for understanding their properties and behaviors. The methodology involves discussing the molecular structure and various morphologies of such systems, emphasizing the differences between congruently-melting and incongruently-melting compounds. The findings indicate that molecular compounds exhibit unique characteristics in the solid state, forming distinct crystalline lattices that alter their diffraction patterns compared to their individual components. Overall, the study reinforces the relevance of molecular arrangements in determining the physical properties of polymer-solvent systems, paving the way for further exploration of these complex materials in the context of material science and polymer chemistry.
