This study presents a novel hydrometallurgical strategy for recovering niobium (Nb) and rare earth elements (REEs) from mineralized pegmatite ore at Gabal El-Faliq, Egypt. The ore, containing economically significant concentrations of Nb (0.83%), REEs (2.3%), zirconium (4.3%), and tantalum (0.03%), was processed via an effective extraction method designed to maximize yield and ensure the economic viability of processing these essential elements. The methodology employed involved the optimization of leaching conditions and recovery techniques tailored to the unique mineralogical composition of the ore. Results indicated that the proposed hydrometallurgical process successfully enhanced the recovery rates of both Nb and REEs, demonstrating the potential for this strategy to contribute to the sustainable supply of critical resources in response to increasing global demands. These findings underscore the strategic importance of Gabal El-Faliq as a resource-rich site that could support the development of advanced materials used in various high-tech applications and green technologies.
