The purpose of this study is to model and simulate CFD in centrifugal pump with different impeller material. Using CFD technique, impellers made of four different materials—aluminium, steel, T300, and glass fibre—are analysed and compared. T300 and glass fibre belong to composite fibre (additive manufacturing). The results show that the performance of centrifugal pumps with impellers made from these composite materials is comparable to that of traditional metals. Specifically, the performance analysis indicates that composite materials like T300 and glass fibre can replace conventional metals such as steel and aluminium without compromising efficiency. This finding suggests the potential of using additive manufacturing materials for pump components, which could lead to advancements in the engineering of centrifugal pumps. The study employs a systematic approach to CAD modelling and CFD analysis to evaluate the performance of each impeller material, ultimately advocating for the integration of innovative materials in pump design and manufacturing. The results contribute to the ongoing dialogue on material selection in engineering applications, particularly in contexts where lightweight and high-strength materials are advantageous.
