This study focuses on the assessment of design mechanical parameters and partial safety factors specifically for Wire-and-Arc Additive Manufactured (WAAM) stainless steel. The objective was to evaluate the structural performance of WAAM components, which are becoming increasingly relevant in modern engineering applications. The methodology involved a comprehensive analysis incorporating tensile tests to determine material properties, accompanied by the application of limit state design principles to calibrate partial safety factors. Various mechanical parameters were assessed, including yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and ductility. Results indicate that the mechanical properties of WAAM stainless steel exhibit variability, necessitating tailored partial safety factors that account for the unique characteristics of the material production process. The findings contribute to the development of codes and guidelines for the design of structures incorporating WAAM stainless steel, enhancing confidence in their performance and safety in engineering applications. This work ultimately aims to support engineers in making informed decisions when utilizing WAAM technology in construction and other structural applications.
