Abstract

Language:

This paper provides a classification of titanium and titanium alloys associated with their chemical composition and structural state after annealing. Described are their physical, mechanical and technological properties. A short analysis of areas of application of these materials is made. Titanium is a tightly packed hexagonal lattice known as alpha (α) phase, stable up to 882 °C, beyond which it undergoes polymorphic conversion to a beta (β) phase. The advantages of titanium and its alloys, including high mechanical properties, low density, and excellent corrosion resistance, have led to an increased use in various industrial fields such as aviation, shipbuilding, and medicine. The research reveals that the mechanical properties of technically pure titanium exhibit a good combination of strength and ductility, showcasing tensile strength of up to 540MPa and yield strength of up to 410MPa. Thus, this study emphasizes the critical role of titanium and its alloys in modern engineering and applications due to their unique properties and versatility.
