For having a desirable fragmentation after blasting it’s necessary to see an eligible effect of geological and rock mechanical parameters related to ore on the design of blasting parameters. For this reason in the models that are presented for rock fragmentation prediction these parameters are inserted as 1 or few indexes. The B1 index in the Kuz-Ram fragmentation model is one of these indexes, which the more accurate this index is determined the more close to reality is the prediction of the average dimensions of fragmented rocks. In this research, fuzzy logic is used for the fuzzification of this index so that with choosing smaller rating intervals for each of the five factors in this index, more accurate ratings can be allocated according to the geological and rock mechanical information inferred from ore. After the model development in order to validate the presented model, with entering the information of altered andesitic rocks from the Sar-Cheshmeh copper mine, the B1 fuzzy index was determined and according to it the average fragmentation was computed. On the other hand the real aggregation of the fragmented product by blasting was determined by the image analysis method which with comparing the results of the presented model and the image analysis results it is shown that the presented model is correct and valid.
