This paper presents research on the mould slag formed on the basis of two mould fluxes. The objective was to evaluate the stability of slag parameters by assessing the change in its liquidus temperature during industrial experiments where slag was sampled at equal time intervals following the addition of subsequent portions of mould flux. A thorough methodology was employed to track variations in the chemical composition of the mould flux as influenced by different casting process parameters and steel grades. The results showed that the stability of mould flux performance parameters is critical for the continuous steel casting process. It was found that deviations from the established casting procedures increase the likelihood of flaws due to changes in mould flux chemistry. This indicates the necessity for an individualized assessment of mould fluxes based on specific casting conditions. Overall, the findings underscore the importance of selecting appropriate mould flux compositions to enhance the performance and quality of the casting process.
