In the last decades, the modern lifestyle and advancements in industry and technology have led to a significant increase in waste generation globally. This chapter investigates the accumulation of various industrial and agricultural wastes, such as slag, ash, dust, and other by-products, highlighting their environmental impact through air pollution and leaching of toxins when improperly disposed of. The construction industry, being a major consumer of natural resources, also contributes to waste through demolition activities. This research aims to explore the potential recycling of these wastes into new building materials, addressing both environmental sustainability and resource conservation. Employing a literature review and analysis of current practices, the findings reveal that integrating waste materials into the production of construction components is not only feasible but also essential for enhancing sustainability in the building materials sector. New generations of building materials that utilize waste are emerging, promoting a circular economy within the industry. Additionally, this study emphasizes the necessity for continued research and innovation in material science to develop effective solutions for waste incorporation into construction practices.
