Abstract

Language:

Measurements of two-phase flow of water and steam in porous media were performed to calculate relative permeabilities. The objective was to compare these measurements, utilizing fluids of geothermal origin, to known relative permeability curves and to analyze the effects of parameter variations. Given the high sensitivity to intrinsic (absolute) permeability, the data exhibited a significant spread. However, the results indicated that the Corey curves were appropriate for representing relative permeability functions. The findings provide valuable insights into the behaviors and characteristics associated with the flashing of hydrothermal fluids within liquid-dominated geothermal reservoirs.
