This study investigates the distribution and concentration of heavy metals in soils from the Angren-Almalik mining industrial area. The primary objective was to evaluate the level of contamination and to assess the potential environmental impacts on local ecosystems and human health. Soil samples were systematically collected from various locations within the mining vicinity, followed by laboratory analysis using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) to quantify the concentrations of metals such as lead, cadmium, and mercury. The results revealed significant variations in metal concentrations, with some locations exceeding permissible limits set by environmental regulations. The variation in the concentration levels was influenced by proximity to mining activities and industrial discharge. The findings indicate a high risk of soil contamination, which could adversely affect agricultural practices and pose health risks to the local population. This research underscores the need for ongoing monitoring and the implementation of mitigation strategies to manage the environmental impacts of mining activities in the region.
