This section deals with the oxides of heavy metals, specifically columbium and tantalum, rare earths, chromium, manganese, titanium, tin, and tungsten. The objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of these commodities, including their production figures and specifications in 1977. The methodology involves summarizing data regarding the common commercial minerals associated with these commodities and the processes utilized for their recovery and concentration. The results include detailed tables outlining production figures for each commodity in the US and globally, along with summarized specifications and prices for concentrates. Each chapter describes individual minerals and the geographical areas where these processes are effectively employed. This work aims to enhance understanding of the economic and strategic importance of heavy metal oxides and the mineral processing techniques employed in their production.
