This document provides comprehensive installation guidelines for excitation transformers as part of the Inga-Kwelezi refurbishment project. The objective is to ensure the proper installation and grounding of transformers while maintaining safety standards. The methodology employed includes detailed specifications for the cable connections, minimum distances between cables and high voltage terminals, and proper assembly of components such as cable glands. Additionally, it outlines the requirements for bolted joints and connectors necessary for the current busbars. Results indicate the importance of adhering to minimum bending radii, securing all cables to the enclosure frame, and implementing effective grounding solutions to the main grid. The inclusion of detailed drawings and specifications ensures clarity in the installation process, ultimately facilitating a successful refurbishment project.
