This paper presents experimental data from the electrolytic refining of copper anodes obtained from scraps, focusing on the behavior of alloying elements from secondary copper. The study employs SEM microscopy, EDAX chemical characterization, and atomic emission spectroscopy to analyze the results. The electrolytic refining process, known for over a century, remains the primary method for producing copper that meets the industry standards in electrotechnique, energetic, electronics, microelectronics, and communication sectors. Recent advancements aim to enhance the technical and economic outputs, particularly the quality of electrolytic copper, which is primarily assessed by its purity during the electrolysis process. Key factors influencing cathode deposit quality include the nature of the anode, electrolyte chemical composition, anodic current density, and various operational parameters that can be rigorously controlled. With the growing demand for copper and environmental considerations, electrolytic copper from secondary materials has become increasingly significant. This work provides insights into the technological advancements in copper electrolytic refining and highlights the operational parameters essential for optimal refining outcomes.
