This article examines the physicochemical challenges associated with mineral processing, focusing particularly on uranium post-mining wastes as a potential reserve source for nuclear energy plants. The primary objective is to explore how these wastes can be effectively utilized in a sustainable manner. The methodology includes an analysis of the physicochemical properties of the uranium wastes, utilizing various experimental techniques to assess their viability as a resource. Results indicate that while these post-mining wastes contain significant amounts of uranium, their recovery poses several technical challenges that must be addressed to harness their potential. The study concludes that with the proper technology and processes, uranium post-mining wastes could provide a valuable resource for nuclear energy, thereby contributing to a more sustainable future in energy production.
