Abstract

Language:

This study investigates the electrodeposition of nickel from choline chloride-based ionic liquids, addressing the limitations of traditional aqueous electrolytes. The objective is to explore alternative electrochemical media that present less environmental toxicity while expanding the range of metals suitable for electrodeposition. Employing electrochemical techniques, the research evaluates the efficiency and potential applications of nickel coatings produced under these conditions. The results demonstrate that choline chloride-based ionic liquids can effectively facilitate nickel deposition while mitigating the environmental concerns associated with classical methods, making it a promising approach for industrial applications. Additionally, the study highlights the need for innovative materials and techniques in electrochemical micro-processing to enhance both performance and sustainability. This research not only contributes to the understanding of ionic liquids in electrochemistry but also supports ongoing efforts to make metal surface finishing processes more eco-friendly.
