Packaging plays many functional roles from protecting contents to helping the user employ the product, but its main job is seen as helping sell the product at the point of purchase. This study focuses on the packaging of edible oil, aiming to understand the buying behavior of consumers in the Chennai market concerning packaging. The researcher utilized a pre-planned structured questionnaire to test the influence factors on customer decisions regarding oil brands, the amount of consumption, and the point of purchase, with a sample of 126 consumers from various income, age, and gender groups. The cluster sampling technique was employed to gather diverse insights. Findings reveal that consumer behavior has evolved over time, underscoring that customer satisfaction is linked to attitudes and value to behavior. The results provide marketers with essential information on the fastest moving brands and preferences, helping them tailor their strategies to meet changing consumer demands effectively.
