This thesis presents a comprehensive exploration of industrial process design specifically targeted at the manufacturing of Inconel 718 extremely large forged rings. The objective is to develop methodologies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing process of these complex components, which are critical in various high-temperature applications. A combination of experimental studies and theoretical analyses were employed to evaluate the properties and behavior of Inconel 718 during the forging process, with a focus on optimizing parameters such as temperature, pressure, and tooling design. Results demonstrate significant improvements in material characteristics and manufacturing outcomes, highlighting the importance of careful process design in achieving desired mechanical properties and performance metrics. Furthermore, the findings contribute to the broader understanding of Inconel 718 use in industrial applications, offering new insights into its manufacturability and potential innovations in forging techniques.
