This study proposes a method for utilizing tailings from concentration plants, which contain valuable metals such as copper, iron, and zinc, as potential raw materials for obtaining concentrates. An electrohydropulse discharge was employed to enhance the leaching process of copper and other metals. The research focused on ammonium bifluoride as the most effective reagent for copper leaching through the ammonization method. Significant leaching variables were examined and optimized using probabilistic deterministic planning of experiments. The results indicated optimal process conditions including a solid to liquid mass ratio of 1:1, CuF2 of 1.6, a sulfuric acid concentration of 40 g L-1, an experiment duration of 30 minutes, and a discharge voltage of 10 kV, achieving leaching efficiencies between 80% and 85%. Additionally, comparative analyses of tailings from the Karagaily concentration plant were conducted using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic emission spectral analysis, revealing that copper was predominantly transferred to the aqueous phase following the leaching process.
