The geodynamical evolution of a region is primarily constrained by the sedimentary record found in basins, yet the understanding of the geodynamics in peripheral areas and basement regions is less established. This study aims to extend isochroneous lines from basins to basement areas to enhance geodynamical models by considering subsidence, uplift, and erosion. The research focuses on remnant kaolinitic paleoweathering profiles, specifically the 'Siderolithic' formations believed to date back to the Late Eocene and Oligocene periods. The methodology employed paleomagnetic dating across three key areas along a north-south cross-section through the Massif Central. By applying advanced paleomagnetic methods, the study provides significant insights into the temporal dynamics of these weathering profiles and their implications for understanding the geodynamic history of the region. The results confirm the Tertiary age of the formations and highlight the importance of such analyses in reconstructing the geological past, ultimately contributing to a broader comprehension of continental evolution and sediment interactions.
