The central region of the Ti-Al equilibrium diagram has been thoroughly reexamined, establishing the invariant as a eutectoid near 1115°C with a eutectoid composition of 39.6 a/o Al. The endpoints of the invariant are located at 38.4 and 48.4 a/o Al, respectively. Using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), the alpha plus alpha2 region is identified, revealing adjacent ordered and disordered areas. Notably, the high temperature gamma solvus presents a lower slope to 1350°C than previously reported, while the low temperature gamma solvus extends beyond 50 a/o Al below 1000°C. Furthermore, the alpha plus beta field is effectively located at both 1200 and 1300°C. These findings clarify the positions of several phase boundaries within the Ti-Al equilibrium diagram, providing a definitive reference for future alloy development in this critical binary system.
