In this paper, we present a compact 2 x 2 wideband beam-steering array designed for NATO Band III tactical communications, emphasizing its interference suppressing capabilities. The proposed antenna array, measuring just 4 x 4 x 4 cm³, is tailored to fit vehicle-mounted applications where space is a constraint. We manufacture and measure the array's performance, utilizing minimum variance distortionless response beamforming and phase-only beamforming techniques to assess its effectiveness in an environment with single interferers. The results demonstrate that our antenna design significantly enhances the signal-to-noise ratio, achieving improvements of over 10 dB for angular separations exceeding 15° from the target signal and over 20 dB for separations greater than 43° across the operational frequency range. This research indicates the potential of our wideband steerable antenna array for modern tactical communications, where reducing the impact of jamming is crucial for reliable operation.
