Abstract

Language:

This report details the verification of process conditions for the removal of strontium (Sr) and transuranic (TRU) materials from a blend of AN-102 and C-104 waste. The objective was to assess the effectiveness of the treatment process developed by Battelle for the safe management of radioactive waste. A series of tests were conducted following the specifications outlined in Test Specification TSP-W375-01-00003 and Test Plan CHG-TP-41500-019. The methodology involved comprehensive analysis through laboratory tests to monitor the removal efficiency of Sr/TRU from the waste blend, considering quality assurance protocols. The results demonstrated a consistent removal of targeted contaminants from the waste stream, confirming the reliability of the treatment process under the specified conditions. Patterns of data collected indicate that the process is effective in achieving the expected reduction of hazardous materials, thus furthering the goal of optimizing waste management strategies in the context of environmental safety and regulatory compliance.
