Abstract

Language:

The integration of metal alloys into fusion-based additive manufacturing (AM) presents significant advancements in the field of engineering materials. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of current metal alloys utilized in AM processes, examining their properties, advantages, and potential applications. Methodologically, the research involves a systematic review of existing literature, alongside experimental analyses to evaluate the performance of various alloys in additive manufacturing contexts. Key findings reveal that specific alloys exhibit superior mechanical properties, including enhanced tensile strength and ductility, which are critical for structural applications. Furthermore, the investigation identifies challenges associated with the thermal behavior and microstructural changes of these alloys during AM processes, suggesting pathways for future research to optimize material performance. This work underscores the importance of alloy selection and processing conditions in maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of fusion-based additive manufacturing techniques.
