In the contemporary steel industry, the demand for high-quality and clean steel products is paramount due to competitive market pressures. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of tundish powders in continuous casting processes, emphasizing their roles in reducing inclusions and oxidation during steel production. A systematic methodology was employed, involving the characterization of various tundish powder samples and their interactions with molten steel. The evaluation included physical and chemical analyses, as well as performance testing under simulated continuous casting conditions. The results indicated significant variations in the effectiveness of different tundish powders in enhancing steel cleanliness. Specifically, certain compositions exhibited superior performance in minimizing inclusions and enhancing thermal insulation, which contributed to improved casting quality. The findings underscore the critical role of tundish powders in ensuring the production of ultra-clean steel, aligning with industry demands for higher quality at optimized costs. This research contributes to a better understanding of tundish technology and its implications for steel production efficiency and quality management.
