This research focuses on the predictive maintenance of rotating machinery, specifically the gearbox of mixer used in the solvent extraction (SX) plant of Mutanda Mining (MUMI). The main objective is to demonstrate the effectiveness of vibration analysis in the early detection and diagnosis of mechanical faults such as unbalance, misalignment, bearing wear, and gear defects. The document is structured into several chapters: it begins with a literature review on the fundamental principles of mechanical vibrations and analysis methods, followed by an introduction to the MUMI plant and its production process. The methodology combines theoretical analysis, real-world vibration data collection, and numerical simulation to study an industrial gear motor. Results from vibration measurements collected over a period indicate a progressive degradation of the motor gearbox state, with vibration levels exceeding critical thresholds defined by AFNOR NF E90-300 and ISO 10816 standards.
