Due to rapid technological development, waste electric and electronic equipment are a serious threat to the environment. Waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs), as its main component, are a significant source of valuable and base metals, especially copper. In the presented research, a series of copper leaching tests with sulfuric acid were performed; the influence of different process parameters (solid-liquid ratio, leaching time and temperature, stirring rate, and addition of oxidizing agent) was investigated to define optimal process conditions. The achieved copper leaching degree was 98%.
