Structural and superconducting properties of new cations substituted mercury based oxides are described. They are mainly characterized by [Hg1 - xMxO3]o monolayers, however a compound with doubled [Hg1 - xMxO3]o layer is described for the first time. Critical temperatures vary in a large range 0 ≤ Tc ≤ 130 K, but they are lower than those of the parent 'all mercury' oxides. The influence of annealing under various atmospheres is discussed. The results indicate that superconductivity only appears when lanthanum is partially substituted for strontium, and in the case of lead, the critical temperature increases with the amount of lanthanum. Oxygen pressure annealing has little effect on the superconducting properties, while reducing atmosphere (Ar-H₂ mixture) treatments destroy superconductivity.
