This research investigates the role of air transport in the macroeconomic performance of Asian countries from 1970 to 2014. The objective was to analyze the contribution of air transport to economic growth using various econometric techniques, including Pesaran Cross-Sectional Dependence Test, Cross-Sectional Augmented IPS, Mean Group (MG), Common Correlated Effect Mean Group (CCEMG), Augmented Mean Group (AMG), and Panel Granger Causality. The methodology involved empirical testing of the relationship between air transport and macroeconomic outcomes across sampled countries. Results confirm that air transport significantly influences economic growth, and a feedback effect from macroeconomic performance to air transport is also evident. Given these findings, it is recommended that the air transport sector receive formal incentives to enhance its macroeconomic contributions to growth.
