This experimental study focuses on investigating and optimizing the reclaimed sand process parameters to achieve minimized defects and improved mechanical properties in aluminum alloy cast products. The study focused on four main casting influential defects: porosity, sand inclusion, blowholes, and shrinkage. Pulley samples were cast to examine the effectiveness of various parameters, including sand grain size and binder content, in enhancing the overall quality of aluminum castings. Through systematic experimentation and analysis, key relationships between process parameters and defect occurrences were established, leading to a refined understanding of optimal conditions in sand casting. The results revealed that adjustments in these parameters significantly reduced defect rates, thus improving mechanical properties such as tensile strength and ductility in the final products. This research provides valuable insights for manufacturers seeking to enhance aluminum alloy casting quality and efficiency, thereby promoting sustainability in the use of reclaimed sand in industrial applications.
