The conference proceedings focus on the advancements and opportunities in processing metal resources in South East Europe, specifically discussing the economic geology of the region and the innovative approaches in hydrometallurgy. The objective was to explore novel methods and strategies for enhancing metal recovery and recycling processes, addressing environmental concerns associated with traditional methods. The methodologies employed included presentations and discussions on various topics ranging from energy-saving technologies to mobile hydrometallurgy techniques for recovering precious metals. Key results highlighted advancements in chloride hydro-electrometallurgy, the behavior of copper electrodes in environmentally friendly extraction processes, and mobile solutions for extracting rare metals from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Additionally, significant insights were shared regarding the KIC EIT RawMaterials strategy and other funding opportunities relevant to Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and South East Europe.
