Abstract

Language:

The study aims to determine the transformational leadership characteristics of the leaders of ECSD Design + Build in relation to eight traits: administrative, analytical, performer, energetic, empowering, creative, visionary, and community-builder. Using a quantitative self-assessment survey, 30 workers evaluated three leaders—one architect and two engineers—based on these traits. Results show that “performer” scored the highest overall among the eight characteristics, with an average of 6.64, indicating that all three leaders are perceived as strong results producers. The architect’s strongest traits are energetic, creative, and analytical, while empowering and community-building are identified as areas for improvement. The first engineer is strongest as a performer and analytical, with creative and visionary traits needing development. The second engineer demonstrates particular strength as a performer and visionary, with creative and community-builder traits as relative weaknesses. Overall, all three leaders exhibit high levels across the eight transformational leadership characteristics, with distinct individual strengths and specific traits highlighted for further improvement.
