The study investigates whether the socio-economic status (SES) of families is related to the personality type (extrovert/introvert) of engineering college athletes. A total of 115 sports students from engineering colleges affiliated with Punjab Technical University were randomly selected, covering cricket, football, handball, and hockey. Personality was assessed using the Eysenck Personality Inventory, and SES was measured with the Rajbir Singh, Radhey Shyam, and Satish Kumar socio-economic status scale. Data were analyzed using chi-square tests and Karl Pearson’s correlation coefficients. The findings indicate that there is no significant relationship between athletes’ personality types (extrovert/introvert) and their families’ socio-economic status across all four sports, with significance evaluated at the 0.05 level.
