With the rapid advancement of technology and services such as the World-Wide-Web, the Internet has created a rich environment for developing electronic commerce applications. Business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce, among various types, is significantly prevalent in terms of turnover. This study investigates the development of efficient procurement processes within B2B relationships, focusing on the challenges faced by suppliers in adopting electronic markets. While e-procurement aims to facilitate a marketplace that benefits both buyers and suppliers, common perceptions suggest that buyers primarily gain by driving down prices, often leading suppliers to feel compelled to join these e-markets with concerns over potential trade losses. The construction industry specifically is currently grappling with issues like fluctuating material prices and skilled resource shortages, necessitating sustainable, faster, and safer construction methods along with innovative procurement practices. This paper discusses the imperative need for increased efficiency and effectiveness within the construction supply chain, emphasizing that the ultimate goal of supply is to ensure the correct quantity of quality products is delivered at the right time, place, and price. Insights from this research aim to enhance understanding and implementation of e-procurement strategies in the context of Kuwait's growing economy.
