This study investigates the recovery of copper (Cu) from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash leachates using solvent extraction methods. The objective was to evaluate the efficiency of different solvent extraction techniques in isolating copper from leachates resulting from MSWI fly ash. Various solvent extraction processes were applied, and the concentrations of Cu in the leachates were measured before and after treatment to assess the recovery rates. The results demonstrated that certain solvent extraction methods achieved remarkable efficiencies, recovering significant percentages of copper from the leachates. Additionally, the leachates were analyzed for other contaminants, providing insights into the overall effectiveness of the proposed remediation strategies. These findings suggest that solvent extraction can be a viable and effective method for recovering valuable metals like Cu from waste-derived leachates, thus contributing to more sustainable waste management practices and resource recovery. The study's outcomes lay the foundation for further research and development of optimized copper recovery techniques from MSWI fly ash leachates.
