Several finds made in the context of preventive archaeology show that the metallurgy of iron and copper alloys is well represented in Meaux, capital of a small city during the Roman period. Chemical analyses of recently discovered crucibles confirm the presence of goldworking and brass production workshops. This article also presents documents related to bronze working alongside a crucible likely to be new. The study includes analyses of two specimens of copper alloy working that contribute to the understanding of the activity of brassworkers in Meaux, alongside an unused crucible from excavations at 1-9 rue Saint-Fiacre.
