Abstract

Language:

In this paper, the modeling and simulation of thermoelectric generator (TEG) modules are validated using MATLAB. The TEG model is developed with suitable .m files, and further extended for generating electricity from waste heat liberated by air conditioners. This waste heat contributes to global warming and pollution, prompting the use of thermoelectric generators as a means to generate power. TEGs represent a green technology as their components are fixed, and none of the power produced is wasted. The thermoelectric power generator effectively converts waste heat into electrical energy, addressing the economical wastage of thermal energy and minimizing atmospheric pollution. Consequently, this enhances the overall conversion efficiency of the system. The energy produced can be utilized for practical applications such as lighting LED bulbs and charging mobile batteries. The study emphasizes the advantages of TEG devices, including silent operation, compactness, reliability, and stability, while acknowledging challenges such as lesser energy conversion efficiency.
