Abstract

Language:

This minireview discusses recent advancements in the development of sustainable catalytic systems specifically designed for the oxidative cleavage of cycloalkenes utilizing hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant. The objective is to highlight the importance of such catalytic systems in producing dicarboxylic acids, which serve as essential intermediates in various industrial applications, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and other chemical products. The methodology includes a comprehensive analysis of recent studies and innovative approaches in catalysis, bringing together various chemical processes and techniques employed. Results indicate that the strategic use of sustainable catalysts not only enhances the efficiency of the oxidative cleavage reactions but also contributes significantly to environmental sustainability by minimizing waste and energy consumption. The findings emphasize the need for continued research in this area to improve catalyst design and optimize reaction conditions for better yields and selectivity. This work underscores the critical role of sustainable practices in modern chemical synthesis, paving the way for future developments in green chemistry.
