This report investigates the selective electrowinning of silver and gold from cyanide process solutions, aiming to optimize the separation and recovery of these precious metals. The methodology involved experimental electrochemical techniques to assess the efficiency of various pulse parameters on the electrowinning process. The experiments evaluated the effects of different cell compositions, voltage settings, and temperature conditions on the recovery rates of silver and gold. Results indicated that specific pulse parameters, particularly at elevated temperatures and with certain electrode materials, significantly enhanced the selectivity and efficiency of metal recovery. The findings suggest that careful optimization of electrowinning conditions can result in improved extraction rates, which may have important implications for industrial metallurgical processes. Future work could focus on scaling these techniques and further analyzing the electrochemical mechanisms at play.
