Abstract

Language:

Spatiotemporal data from a plasma drift-wave experiment are analyzed by the biorthogonal decomposition (BOD). This paper aims to provide a model for understanding the route to turbulence in plasma systems through an examination of modulated monochromatic traveling waves. An experimental setup, involving ten specific data sets corresponding to varied control parameter values, is introduced. The methodology utilized for analysis involves applying the Modulated Monochromatic Traveling Waves (MMTWs) technique. The results indicate that as the control parameter is progressively increased, multiple successive bifurcations are observed, which ultimately lead to features characteristic of weak turbulence behavior. The findings contribute valuable insights into the dynamics of plasma turbulence and further elucidate the complex phenomena associated with plasma drift-waves.
