Abstract

Language:

This paper explores the current limitations of participatory modeling in the context of real-world environmental planning processes. The primary objective is to identify the key hurdles that must be addressed before participatory modeling can be effectively integrated into environmental decision-making. To achieve this, a comprehensive review of existing case studies was conducted, focusing on the methodologies employed and the outcomes achieved. The analysis highlights the challenges related to stakeholder engagement, data integration, and the adaptability of modeling techniques to diverse planning scenarios. Results indicate that meaningful participation requires not only advanced modeling tools but also a framework that fosters collaboration among stakeholders. The study concludes that by addressing these identified gaps, participatory modeling can significantly enhance environmental planning outcomes, paving the way for more inclusive and effective decision-making processes.
