An evaluation of the leaching chracteristics of Butte leaching ore

A. Bruynesteyn

1975en

Abstract

Language:

The results of leaching experiments in column systems simulating 80‑ft and 200‑ft deep cores through a leach dump are discussed. By equipping the columns with a can-precipitation plant and pH control on the plant effluent, actual field operating conditions were duplicated. The experimental data yield an improved understanding of the physical and chemical limitations of dump leaching, particularly the roles of pH control, oxygen availability, and solution recirculation.
