The study investigates the in-situ precipitation of arsenic-bearing crystalline particles that occur during the copper electrorefining process. The main objective of this research is to understand the behavior and formation mechanisms of these particles, which have significant implications for both the environmental impact and efficiency of copper production. A combination of experimental methods was employed, including controlled electrochemical experiments and microscopic analysis, to observe the in-situ formation and behavior of the crystalline particles under various conditions. The results indicate that the presence of arsenic significantly affects the precipitation process, leading to the formation of stable crystalline phases that can impact electrolyte quality and overall refining efficiency. Additionally, the study provides insights into optimizing operational conditions to minimize arsenic contamination during copper electrorefining, which can enhance the sustainability of the process. This research contributes to the understanding of waste management and environmental protection in metallurgical practices, highlighting the need for integrated approaches in the design of copper refining operations.
