Supervision of reactive power plays an important role in enhancing power quality. The main concern in the supervision of reactive power is the placement and sizing of capacitor capacity at the best position within the interconnected system, addressing multiple objectives under certain constraints. Proper placement and sizing of capacitors reduce power losses in the system and enhance the power factor and voltage profile of the framework. This study employs Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to achieve essential goals, framing the issue as a nonlinear optimization problem. The methodology is divided into two phases: one focusing on the voltage compensation factor (VSF) and the combination of the voltage compensation factor and voltage compensation index, and the other on sizing capacitors based on PSO. The reactive power parameters at each bus are computed, and the proposed scheme is simulated in the SIMULINK/MATLAB environment to validate its effectiveness.
